Pies by Barbara

If you love pie (and who doesn’t?), this is the place for you. Whether you want to eat a slice of pie, buy a whole pie, or better yet, you want to learn how to bake your own, Barbara can help.

The pie-making class, Easy As Pie, is a 3 hour, hands-on experience where you can watch Barbara make a pie and then create one of your own.  Learn how to make a great crust with a delicious filling in one lesson!  Check out the details by clicking Easy As Pie.

You can now order pies to go or have them delivered to your home.   If you are thinking of serving pie for a crowd at a special occasion (think wedding, birthday party, anniversary and more), Pies by Barbara can help.  We can personalize pies for any event to make them unique as well as delicious.  Click here for details.

You can always order a slice of pie made by Barbara at St. Clouds Restaurant in Madrona.  The pies are seasonal and change to reflect what is fresh. The crust is always flaky and buttery good.

Useful Pie-making Tools

Pie-making is easier when you have the right tools.  One of Barbara’s favorites is the non-stick pastry board called Dexas Midnight Granite.  It is portable (you can put it in the refrigerator to keep things cold), just the right size (14” X “17) for rolling out crust, and it allows you to use very little flour (the crutch of most pie-makers, and not a good thing for the taste of crust).  And it’s not very expensive.  You can find it here.

And check out the french rolling pin that also helps to make fabulous pies. Find it here.

Gift Certificates

A Pies by Barbara gift certificate makes the perfect gift for that special someone.  Give one for a pie, or a pie class, or the Pie of the Season Club.  A sweet and fun gift any time of the year and especially for the holidays.
